A lecture by the 42nd president in celebration of Butler University’s 150th birthday
When: Sunday 6 November, 7:30 PM
Where: Butler University, Hinkle Fieldhouse
What can be said about the 42nd President of the United States? He’s coming to Indy for a free speech. As the kids say in their text messaging, “OMG!!!”
Note that we have a chance for an all-star afternoon and evening of intellectual engagement. Start with the Public Conversation with Wendell Berry, A'Lelia Bundles, and Rabbi Kushner at 3:00 in Clowes Hall; then wander over to Atherton Union Hall with your old and new friends for a Dinner Dialogue; then stroll to Hinkle Fieldhouse for a lecture by the prodigiously gifted politician of our generation. Brain burn-out by the end of the day, but it should be worth it.
Tickets for former President Clinton’s Nov. 6 speech will be made available to the general public at 10 a.m. Oct. 10. Tickets will be distributed at the Clowes Memorial Hall box office. University officials said two tickets would be available per person. The tickets are free. Lines will begin forming at 8 a.m. at the east side entrance to Clowes Hall. Lines formed before 8 a.m. will not be honored. Absolutely no overnight camping will be allowed.
