April 12: Learn about foiling art thieves in Baghdad


History Makers: IHS Distinguished Speakers Series Featuring Colonel Matthew Bogdanos, author of “Thieves of Baghdad: The Journey to Recover the World's Greatest Stolen Treasures”

A real-life "Indiana Jones," Colonel Matthew Bogdanos watched in horror with the rest of the world as looters raided the Iraq National Museum after the fall of Baghdad. His mission became clear: get the treasures back and secure some of mankind's most significant artifacts. Bogdanos will recount his undertaking amidst the chaos of post-war Baghdad and his hopes for the future of the world's greatest treasures. Tickets are $25; $20 IHS members.
